My country, 'tis of thee. . .

It's starting. Barak Obama is now the Democratic candidate apparent and the Swift Boats are weighing anchor, the slime breweries are bubbling and the Republican Values Vermin are sitting around the cauldron and giggling.

Barak, you see, is a homosexual junkie and even though he never went to a radical Islamic school, he did anyway. He's a known follower of Soviet leaders, planns to send our wealth to foreign countries because he is a Communist and his wife is anti-American. My in-box is crawling with racist "jokes" from people I formerly respected.
"Barack’s first presidential photo will show Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton on his right side and Teddie Kennedy and Oprah standing on his left side." says one.
"the head of the National Black Caucus said on NPR, National Public Radio, that if his boy got in he would make sure that Jessie was made Secretary of something. " says another. The viral video: Barak the Magic Negro has crawled out of its coffin again.

It's not as though I didn't expect it and it's not as though every country doesn't have it's unworthies. It's that we don't drag them out into the public square and pillory them any more that makes me so ashamed.

Yes, I have some wingnuts in my area who are now foaming at the mouth about Obama and this fake limo thingee in Chicago. They are trying to stir up a firestorm, but so far it remains below the radar.

* In the mean time, he keeps trucking along, mostly keeping the high road, however Hillary seems to stoop lower, and is becoming more desperate.

Of course they're using the fact that Obama isn't responding to the nonsense as "proof" that it's all true.

You can't win an argument with people like these.

I'm a home winemaker, and bottled some wine this past weekend (Vermentino). Wingnut neighbors of mine, good guys in general, who vote party line 100% of the time, helped me bottle. We started talking about the elections. They were enjoying the catfight between Obama and Clinton. They were looking forward to a convention knock down, drag out, battle. Somehow they brought up Jimmy Carter. I basically said, Bush's record, makes Carter look like an All Star. They were stunned I thought so, and basically fought back. I started quizzing them about some current issues, ie, the FISA bill, telecom immunity. They didn't know what I was talking about!!! It's hard to argue with the uninformed who only believe two things. 1) Dems are Tax and Spenders. 2) Dems are weak on National Security.

The point being, they just don't listen to you arguments.

Very true. First come the opinions and then the justification - which includes ignoring reality. Anyone who doesn't know what's going on, doesn't want to know.

Accusing the Democrats of "tax and spend" reminds me of the guy who just lost the house and the college money in Vegas and owes the mob a million bucks complaining that his wife spends too much on groceries.

Anon, tell your vintage friends to stop "wining."
